Load control nets, also known as load securing or load restraint nets, are durable and highly reliable. They are widely used in the transport, industrial, and construction sectors to secure loads, especially when dealing with uneven or bulky items. These nets can be used on pallets, stationary loads in warehouses, or within closed transport systems and containers. Warehouses often use them to cover roll cages or trolleys during transit.
Load control nets have a variety of applications, including:
• Construction industry – for restraining materials on-site or during transit.
• Transport industry – as partition nets or load restraint nets in trucks, lorries, skips, trailers, and vans.
• Warehouses – to cover pallet loads, goods on shelves, or racking.
• Roll cages in supermarkets and warehouses – to prevent goods from falling during transport.
• Any situation requiring the restraint of uneven or bulky loads.
We stock a variety of polypropylene and polyester nets, ranging from lightweight to heavy-duty options. Our selection includes webbing, mesh, or cargo nets in various sizes, mesh dimensions, and densities to suit different requirements. Additional accessories such as ratchet straps, cambuckles, hooks, and other tensioning systems can be added for secure fastening.
Under the Road Traffic Act 1988, drivers must secure all vehicle loads to prevent injury or damage. The Department for Transport Code of Practice states that securing loads is a legal requirement, regardless of journey length, to protect those involved in loading, unloading, and driving, as well as other road users and pedestrians.
The minimum requirement for load restraint systems is:
• Withstanding a force equal to the total weight of the load forward.
• Withstanding half of the weight of the load backwards and sideways.
A correctly fitted load control net can help meet these regulations. Our nets also comply with DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) regulations, ensuring safe and effective load security.
